British Study : Legalize Weed!

As many pot smokers… that also drink, have pointed out over the years – alcohol is way worse than pot! Well it seems that several senior British MPs  – after a year-long study, have seen the light! Just yesterday,  calling for the legalization of  pot.

According to several of the senior British Prime Ministers, the U.K.’s current archaic policies just aren’t working the way they were anticipated to. The recent scientific recommendation, referenced as a “shock verdict” by The Sun writer Kevin Schofield, came in a report from Parliament’s Home Affairs Committee.

The committee urges PM David Cameron to set up a Royal Commission to look at ALL OPTIONS and report back before the next election. And it says the Government should fund detailed research into “the overall costs and benefits of cannabis legalization” — and how such a move has worked abroad. source

The thoughtful – and welcome endorsement came after a year-long investigation which included firsthand observers of this policy, comedian and  ex heroin addict Russell Brand, who called for simple drug possession to no longer be considered a crime.

Russell Brand: “Making it illegal isn’t working anyway”

“Penalizing people for possession of drugs is expensive,” Brand told the MPs back in April. “The cost would be better spent, I think, on education and treatment.

Making weed illegal isn’t working anyway,” Brand said. ” Being arrested isn’t a lesson; it’s an administrative blip.”
