The man who brought you into the raw jungles of Vietnam (Platoon), the minds of demented psychopaths (Natural Born Killers) and who really killed President Kennedy (JFK) – has finally walked out of the cloud of smoke and revealed his marijuana use. It was revealed in an introspective magazine interview which also discloses that Oliver Stone is no longer taking anti-depressants.
The brilliant yet highly controversial director has always been open about his drug use, endorses hallucinogens and steers clear of the harder drugs. Stone says, “Cocaine, I stay away from, but I believe in mushrooms and other hallucinogenic drugs.”

The anti-depressant drug Prozac is off the legendary director’s list – Stone was prescribed Prozac and it wasn’t for him. He goes into how much Prozac he took and how it didn’t help aid in his symptoms. He wasn’t a Prozac person. “I’ve taken too much of that. I feel you have to confront it (depression) on a spiritual basis.” Marijuana helps me in those regards…
“I believe the cannabis plant is a gift from God… California makes the best in the world now. … All my life I’ve been doing it, off and on. I can stop marijuana. … I’m not addicted. I enjoy it,” states Stone. A man who knows what he wants…
