Nevada Athletic Commission Bans Nick Diaz For One Year

Anyone thats a fan of MMA and relaxing with a nice nug of the Chronic, appreciates the fact that Nick Diaz is a modern day Horatio Alger. Nick is a hard working common man, with fist like bricks that could kick the living snot out those on the Nevada state Athletic Commission that just banned him for a year.

Yesterday, the Nevada Athletic Commission decided in their infinite wisdom to suspended Nick Diaz for a year. The crime…  medicating his anxieties away by legally smoking his medical marijuana.

The meeting that the Nevada Athletic Commission held for this case lasted hours as the commission played Junior psychologist and tried to analyze Nick’s “need for medical marijuana”. The commission got Nick to recount his 1st time burning. After which Nick went on to explain that he didn’t have any intention to discontinue his medicating / smoking weed.

When Nick Diaz smokes marijuana, he does so legally. It offers him no advantages. It doesn’t affect either combatants health or welfare. So what is the state’s interest in meddling here? Why is Nevada testing fighters for marijuana? Who benefits from this sham, besides the state which gets to reach into Diaz’s pocket and rip free 30 percent of the purse he put his body on the line to earn? [Story]
